Jackets, Shirts, Pants and Suits
It is best to have someone help you take your measurements for most
apparel. Stand upright and relaxed, then take all measurements from one
side of the body. Be sure to check the size chart for U.S. or European
equivalent sizing before ordering as the actual size numbers vary.
Always consider what under clothing or under garments you will wear
while riding. Overly tight apparel may cause pinching and
discomfort. Loose apparel may cause poor protection from the
elements and wind flapping.
Neck
It is best to measure a shirt collar that fits you well, not your
actual neck. Button the collar and place a cloth measuring tape;
starting behind the button, wrap the tape around the inside of the
collar until it meets its starting point. Additional neck protection,
such as a bandana, balaclava or high collar is strongly recommended for
comfort while riding in any conditions.
Chest
With your arms relaxed at your sides, measure the largest total
circumference of your chest when inhaling, keeping the tape parallel to
the floor and measuring under your armpits and around your breastbone
and back. Chest measurement is for sizing reference and consideration
should be given to your midsection (stomach area). A tight mid-section
will allow jackets or apparel to rise while riding. Selecting a
slightly loose jacket is recommended, unless purchasing a suit or
zip-together pants and jacket.
Sleeve
With your arm slightly bent, measure from your spine at the base of
your neck, over your shoulder and elbow, to your wrist bone.
Center Back (CB) Length
This measurement is only necessary for proper fit of one-piece suits
for sport, race or rain protection and for proper spine protection.
Standing completely upright, measure from the base of your neck, down
your spine to your natural waist. Most riding suits are designed based
on CB Length and adjusted for riding position.

Helmets
Measure the largest portion of your head horizontally with a cloth
tape, measuring approximately one inch above your eyebrows and ears. If
your head size is between two helmet sizes, first try the smaller size.
A correctly fitting helmet should not be able to move from side to side
and up and down with the chin strap fastened for a safe fit. If it is
not snug, try a size smaller. Consider purchasing other size cheek pads
or helmet liners to improve fit. Some helmets are designed with
exchangeable cheek pads and liners; allowing smaller cheek pads or
liners, in a slightly larger helmet or visa-versa.

Waist
Bend to one side while standing in front of a mirror. Locate where your
body naturally creases — this is your natural waist. Bend to the other
side and locate your natural waist on that side. Stand upright and
relaxed, and measure completely around your natural waistline. Unless
purchasing a suit or zip together pants and jacket, use of a belt is
strongly recommended to prevent creep during riding.
Hip
For riding comfort, women's pants should be sized at her hips. Measure
the total circumference at the hip's largest point with a cloth tape
measure, keeping the tape parallel to the floor. Hip measurement should
be slightly loose and relaxed to avoid pinching and discomfort.
Inseam
Inseam measurement is critical for proper fit of riding pants and
chaps. Stand upright and relaxed while measuring the total length of
the inside seam from your crotch to your ankle. Most riding pants are
made slightly longer to allow proper ankle protection. Select an inseam
that is typical of your usual clothing. Above ankle boots are strongly
recommended for safety and comfort while riding in any conditions.
Riding Boots and Shoes
Measure the length of both feet from the heel to the longest toe. Boots
and shoes are sized in typical US measurements, however sizes may vary
by manufacturer. Toe movement is important. Consider what weight socks
you will wear for proper protection from the elements. Riding boots and
shoes are primarily for protection while sitting. Comfort and movement
are critical, and purchasing one-half size larger is recommended. Also,
over ankle models are recommended for personal safety. If you usually
wear a half size, and half sizes are not available, order the next size
larger.

Gloves
Measure the circumference around your dominant hand across your palm
and just below your knuckles, without including your thumb. Gloves are
primarily for protection and controlled grip, yet finger movement is
critical for circulation. If you have long fingers or if the measured
size of your hand is between sizes of the gloves that interest you,
choose the size larger for a loose fit. Remember that leather gloves
break in and stretch slightly after some use.

Jerseys
Compare the size of a standard youth t-shirt with the corresponding
jersey size from the chart. The t-shirt size corresponds with an
oversized jersey size for a comfortable rider fit.
Pants
Using a pair of your child's regular pants (jeans, shorts, etc.),
button them and pull them tight across the top as in the diagram.
Measure the distance between the top sides at waist level. Multiply
your finding (X) by 2 to get the necessary pant size.
Gloves
With palm up, take a measurement from the wrist joint to the tip of the
middle finger (X). Compare finding with the chart beside.
